About Fusion Academy Martial Arts - FAMA

FAMA began many years ago, far away. Pame began rigorous gymnastics and Martial Arts training in elementary school. As a student at Escuela Internacional Pa-Kwa Chuan in Arica, Chile, she learned elements of karate, boxing, and kung fu, specializing in Kyokushinkai, Shaolin-chuan, Pa-kwa, Nan-chuan and Chan-chuan styles.

Sifu Pame was awarded a black belt in kung fu at the age of 21, and had participated in international tournaments since the age of 13. In Chile, belt ranks and testing are overseen by the national military, and a strict regimen of sparring, weapons training, tournament participation, and forms is required to achieve a black belt in any discipline.

Pame came to the United States on a vacation. Fate chose to make her vacation an extended one when she met her future husband in Houston, TX while traveling. Continuing her training and stretching routines daily, Pame moved with her husband to Denver, CO in 1997.

With two children of her own and a desire to teach, Pame volunteered to participate in the Young Champions of America program, a respected provider of martial arts and self defense training in the Denver and Front Range area. When Young Champions began a reorganization in 2006, Pame founded the Fusion Academy of Martial Arts (FAMA). To provide additional safety, Pame renewed her certification in CPR and First Aid.

Due to the reformation, Young Champions was unable to continue martial arts training at several Denver metro schools, so FAMA rushed to negotiate contracts with the Denver and Aurora Public School systems. The Spring semester of 2007 allowed FAMA to continue training at Mrachek Middle and Bradley Elementary schools in the Denver area.

Dedicated to teaching students of all belt ranks fundamentals of self-defense, self-control, abduction awareness, sportsmanship, and discipline, FAMA is ready to continue the ancient traditions of the martial arts!
